Win Some, Lose Some, Learn

Win some, lose some.

I’ve been thinking about this a lot these days.  Spring always brings new Real Estate Agents to the Business, and it wasn’t all that long ago that I was a new Agent as well.

I was chatting with a friend the other day, whose friend had just joined the business.  New and eager, ready to do her absolute best for her Clients.  She had just negotiated her first offer, and after many hours of hard work, watched it all disintegrate.

Win some, lose some.

What does it really mean?  I want to share with newer agents that we all win some and we all lose some.  It’s inevitable in this business, though never easy to accept.  We all want to win, every time.  We want our Clients to be happy, and we want to feel successful.  However, many times, there are just so many factors beyond our control.  As we gain a little bit more experience in the business, we find ourselves winning more and losing less, but yes, none of us win all the time.

Win some, lose some.  Learn.

After coming out of a particularly difficult couple of weeks, where I found myself more on the losing side than on the winning side, I decided to stop beating myself up about it.  There’s something important to be learned from every lost opportunity.

Focus on the learnings, and forget the negative.  Focus on the people, and the rest will follow.

Lose some, Win more, and Never stop Learning.
