Thunder Bay Real Estate Market Week in Review; 01/16- 01/20 2017

Here is a quick snapshot of the Thunder Bay Real Estate Market for the week of January 16th- 20th 2017.  The market is beginning to pick up after the holiday season, and as we head away from the deep freeze of the first couple of weeks of January, activity is definitely on an increase!  This past week, the Thunder Bay Real Estate Market experienced;

  • 26 new residential listings
  • 12 sold firm
  • 23 conditionally accepted offers
  • 5 expired and 4 cancelled listings

To date, for the month of January 2017, we have had;

  • 74 detached and semi detached properties newly listed or re-listed
  • 29 of which have sold firm
  • with an average listing price of $259,406
  • and an average sale price of $247,576
  • 95.44% of asking price

Movement continues to be hottest in the mid range, with higher priced properties, similar to 2016, taking longer to sell.  Generally, activity begins to really increase in February, at which point we start to move into Spring Market conditions.
